What’s your name and what role do you play at Velocity Accounting?
Dani Wragg-Long, I am a digital accountant at Velocity, I help businesses use software to make them more profitable and support their year end process.
What do you enjoy most about your job?
I enjoy seeing clients benefit from embracing the changes in technology. Spending time with good honest working people who deserve to get the most from their business.
Why do you think Velocity Accounting stands out from other accountancy firms?
Donna. Donna has a fun loving attitude and is a very caring person. She genuinely wants what is best for the clients and after building her business herself is very understanding as to how the client feels and supports their growth in any way possible. We don’t want to see a client once a year to do their year end, we want to actively be involved in their development and this is invaluable to businesses.
How do you make sure each client gets the help they need for their unique financial situation?
Communication is key! Meeting with clients and getting to know them on a more personal level allows us to understand what they want to achieve and how they have gotten to the point they’re at, this ultimately helps us give the best possible advice and recommend the most suitable software.
How does Velocity Accounting keep up with changes in the industry to provide the best service possible?
We have subscriptions to reliable sources that give insight into the future of the industry. For example, I am a member of ICAEW but Donna is a member of ACCA and other staff are members of AAT so we have a wide range of accountancy bodies to access resources. We attend accountancy confrences and conventions to speak with software developers and hear about their ideas as software is an important aspect of furthering the industry and the clients growth.
A fun fact about yourself?
I am currently a purple belt in kickboxing!
